The UpcycleD Trading cOMPANY
Services comprise sustainable interior design including (but not limited to) blind and curtain making services, eco-friendly paint and wallpaper supply, bespoke upcycling commissions, furniture sourcing or complete design scheme. Furniture painting workshops are held on a regular basis to enable customers to carry out their own upcycling projects. Furniture paints and accessories can be purchased in store.
There are currently two types of workshop offered: Three Techniques and Bring Your Own Project. Both formats are an introduction to furniture painting for anyone keen to get started on their own projects or with some experience but wanting to get a good insight into the basics and to ask any questions they may have.
During this workshop we cover a two colour distressed finish using chalk paint, an aged effect with depth of profiling using chalk paint and dark wax application and finally mineral paint preparation and application. The format is informal and relaxed with questions invited throughout. Tea/coffee and cake are provided along with an apron for use during the workshop (it is still advisable however to wear old clothes and sleeves that roll up as paint does not always wash out). Workshops last up to 3 hours and there is an opportunity towards the end to purchase any paints on the day at a 10% discount which can be taken home in a complementary jute shopping bag along with information sheets to refer back to when carrying out your own projects.
Upcoming dates: 24th April 10am.
Bring Your Own Project
During this workshop participants are invited to bring along a small piece of furniture or perhaps a mirror or other paintable accessory. We start by discussing what you might want to achieve and the best way to do so. Alternatively we can consider various options if there is no particular preference. Once this is decided participants start to upcycle their projects whilst receiving help and guidance. For this particular workshop participants can either bring their own paint to use, make use of paint provided by TUTCo during the workshop although the colours available will be limited or purchase paint to use on the day and take home at a 10% discount.
Upcoming dates: 11th April 10am, 9th May 10am.
Both workshops currently available are priced at £45 per person for BYOP and £50 per person for 3 techniques. Further workshops are in development to be rolled out in the near future. Please get in contact to enquire about available dates and reserve your place with a £10 deposit.
